The Profile:
I'm one of three chiefs at ICATT. I do sales and biz-development.
I started at high-school. The first thing I did was type out my list of literature that I had read for Dutch classes.
I studied a combination of psychology and artificial intelligence (prolog!) which lead to e-learning and internet projects. I like IT the most when it's in close relationship with goals of people or organizations. What I really love is when we do something that is both designed well, has excellent usability and is also technologically sound.
DNN is part of what we do - but hopefull it's going to be a very big part!
- Wat zijn je hobby's?
I love cooking (and wrote a couple of cookbooks) and photography. I love traveling too.
We started with 4 at ICATT. So... we're latecomers. Just you watch us!
The latest of course!
We are working on performance and setting up a competence center that is able to deal with many ongoing projects.
Untill now - it's been hard work! But I am really very happy with the turn it is taking. We used to be a company developing cutsom software for clients. We wanted to join this community to be able to stop having to develop things from scratch all the time. We really see the added value of the community.
I'm most proud of the fact that we joined this community being a Microsoft development company (who usually think anything without a licence can't be good :-)
I just used e-content - a little presentation module. Very simple but nice and very productive.
I think the most important milestones are: performance, flexibility of the backend, a better work flow, an easier management of rights. So hey there's stuff to be done.
I personally hope to be helping the community grow in it's presentation of DNN to other developers and users.
If you want to develop modules: don't forget very full browser testing (check Chrome while you are at it!)
On a more general level, present the software well. Develop a good demo site.
And always give away you're code. We - for example - do not use modules that we don't get the code for. We think that you shouldn't use closed modules in an open source framework.
